A whole month has passed since I last posted or shared anything with you guys. It's been a pretty trying month and up until now I really haven't felt much like sharing.
It's definitely not going to be a month I'll forget in a hurry. A month full of personal pressures, not to mention a stressful (but exciting) time at work. A month of true "highs and lows".
The low point of my month comes in the form of Dennis breaking up with me. My best friend decided that I was no longer what he wanted out of a relationship.
It's been hard, it still is hard to get my head around but I know that I could not have done anything to change how he felt. I could not of been more accommodating or understanding.
There's no point in going into any more detail, I just hope Dennis is happy. So from now on, its just me again.
We shall see how the blog progresses. I'm not too sure where it's heading or if I'm definitely going to carry on with it, we will just have to wait and see. I feel like I need to fix myself first and this time a glue gun won't do the trick.
A new chapter of my life is beginning, the relationship ended but my career is at a personal high. It's strange how things work out.
As you all know I'm a dancer in the Disney musical Tarzan, here in Hamburg.
A couple of months ago I auditioned for the chance to cover the role of Terk, Tarzans best friend.
I was succesful with the audition! So for the past two months have been working towards my premiere as Terk.
That day finally arrived this weekend and on Saturday I played my first show as a lead role.
I'm really proud of this achievement as I've never been on stage as a 'singer'. I've never had lines to say (let alone in a foreign language) and I've never been so scared.
I think it went pretty well, although I'm having a hard time remembering my first show. I think I must have been so nervous and stressed out that it's all a little fuzzy in my mind.
I took a sneaky couple of pictures at work. The first is of me just before I got my hair and make-up done:
and then after, once my transformation was complete!! Not a great picture, but you get the idea :-)
I had so much support from my family, friends and colleagues and really feel so lucky that everyone was involved in my big career step.
I received lots of 'break a leg' well wishes, flowers from friends and little tokens of luck. It was really very special.
My apartment is thriving with flowers!! I love it! Little spots of colour every where I look.
I'm really glad I had the focus of learning this role, I feet like it probably came at a perfect time. It's been distracting me a little from my personal life and I'm very grateful for that.
I hope you are all doing splendidly, sorry for being away for so long.
Hopefully I'll be back really soon with some nice project or something lovely to share.
Until then....... keep things sunny, like a sun flower does!!
Lots of love
Matt xx
