Hello Lovelies!

This week I've had the luxury of these lovely magazines sitting at home on my coffee table. I've picked them up time and time again and have been lapping up the inspiration and information they hold. 

I don't normally buy magazines as a lot of the reading I do comes from books or from the internet. However, last week when I was at the airport waiting for my return flight to Germany, I couldn't help but use up the last of the pounds I had in my wallet and buy myself a couple of English magazines. 

Naturally I picked crafting magazines and have since been enjoying the vibrant photographs and pictures each of the magazines include.

I chose Simply Crochet, Mollie Makes and Homemaker Magazine. All three magazines I adore!

Now there was a time when I used to subscribe to a particular magazine but after a while I did tend to get bored as the same material kept popping up from month to month but in a slightly altered format. I decided to give up my subscription and since then haven't read a crafting magazine in a while. 

I have to tell you, picking up these magazines, I was pleasantly surprised! The content of all three magazines was fantastic! Each one was so beautifully designed and packed full of things I'd love to either buy or try making someday, not to mention there were lots of interesting articles about designers and the work they create.

Simply crochet was the only magazine I bought that was strictly a crochet magazine. This issue had some really fun ideas from a crochet cricket set to summery shorts ideal for days out in the sun.

All three magazines came with free gifts and Simply Crochet magazine was giving away a set of materials and pattern to make a cute little dream catcher.

The packet contained everything you need to make the dream cacher, even the crochet hook!!

I'll definitely try making this and let you know how I get on.

Mollie Makes was one of my other choices of magazine! 

I'm a bit of a fan of this magazine! They always have some lovely ideas of things to try making, but above all I love the aesthetic of the magazine. It's very simple and has a rather homemade feeling to it. It just oozes craftiness!

Mollie Makes' free gift was a set of postcards full of DIY Summery fashion ideas.

They were also giving away a little pouch full of everything that is required to make a little floral fabric brooch. How NICE!!!

It contained some really pretty fabrics and also a rather cool vintage style button!

Finally the last magazine I picked was Homemaker magazine and I have to say this one is my personal favourite!

Like the other two magazines it is beautifully layed out and I love how vibrant all of the photographs are. 

Homemaker contains all sorts, interviews with designers, crochet projects, sewing and knitting ideas, basically anything crafty!!

Homemaker magazines' project was a rather fun little set of transfers to jazz up some plates and make them just that extra bit special.

Once again everything you need to complete your crafty session of plate decorating. I thought it was a rather jolly idea!

I'll be giving each of these projects a go and am definitely going to keep these magazines on my coffee table so I can grab them and flick through the pages whenever I need a dash of inspiration!

Nostalgic

Hello lovelies! How have you all been? I’m very well thanks! In fact, I’m great! I’m feeling well rested and extremely well fed thanks to a week spent with my Mum and Dad in England.

I decided to go home to England for the week as I had some holiday left to take from work. It’s really been a while since I was back in my home country and to go back felt amazing!

It was such a nice week! Full of lots of family time, catching up with my Mum and Dad, seeing my Brother and Sister and getting to go and visit my Grandma and Nan (who I really haven’t seen in a long time!)

Even though I moved away from home over ten years ago and now have my home with Dennis, there is something very special about going back to the house I grew up in.

The familiar cosiness of my parents home is always so welcoming. 

Mum alway has fresh flowers brightening up the home.

and there is always a freshly baked treat waiting to be nibbled upon arrival! YUMMY!

I love living in Germany, but to go back home to England makes me realise how much I miss living there. 

I miss the familiar sights of the town I grew up in, but above all I miss the familiar English food. So it was rather lovely that during my visit, I got to go to my Nan's house for a home cooked Sunday Roast. I must say... there really is nothing better than my Nan's Sunday Roast!!!

I haven't had one of her roast dinners in over 5 years, so it was long overdue. 

It was also rather special that my brother and sister also came to Nan's to join us for dinner. It was the first time in many years that Mum, Dad, my brother, sister and myself all joined Nan for dinner. It was rather lovely. 

There she is....my very lovely Nan, after slaving away all morning in the kitchen.

Along with visiting my Nan in Bristol we also made a trip to Bath.
Bath really is one of my favourite cities. I find it so vibrant, but so traditional. I dream of living there someday.

Dad and I actually cycled to Bath. It was about a ten mile ride along a canal, a perfect chance for some fresh air.
We cycled along the canal passing the ducks

and taking in the glorious picturesque views.

Once in Bath, Dad and I enjoyed walking around the city.
We stopped off for a traditional cream tea

and watched the street artists perform in the City centre.

A lovely day out! I also spotted a little bit of yarn bombing throughout the city. ( I thought you guys would appreciate that)

A week of home, family and food! It was perfect! It's true what they say....
"Home is where the heart is" ..... mine is definitely still in England.
