Yummy Yarnberries

I love strawberries. I love the color, the taste and the beauty of them! They're not always in season though, and can be quite expensive! So I found my own little solution to always have some at home throughout the year! They might not be as tasty, but they sure are just as beautiful and full of color!
It was the first time I've tried to knit something tiny and 'amigurumi' style. They are tiny tiny tiny but somehow took almost an hour to knit individually. It's funny how much you can learn from these little beauties. I've used the 'Magic Loop' technique to knit these, which was really interesting and so much easier than knitting with a lot of double pointed needles! I also had to use some 'fair isle' which was fun!
The pattern can be found here: Knitted Strawberries. Mine are not as neat as hers, but I love them anyway!
Have yourselves a lovely week!

Spring Time Pegs

I've got a spare thirty minutes before I need to be off to rehearsals, so I thought I would write a quick little post to all of you lovely readers.

I've once again needed a side line project to focus on. An in-between project to take my mind off sewing in the ends to my granny square blanket.  I wasn't so sure what I wanted to do, although I knew I didn't want to crochet anything new just yet.
Instead I've settled on a very simple and inexpensive project. Decorating clothes pegs!!
I've got my supplies at the ready:

I have a selection of traditional pegs along with some mini clothing pegs I picked up at the craft store.

I've picked out some of my favorite colours of acrylic paint. A glorious combinations of blues, pinks and purples!

Do you want to see whats in the tiny wooden boxes?

Some cute little daisies! I think I'm going to glue these onto the pegs to add a touch of Spring!

I've also got these cute little ladybirds. I think they will fit perfectly at home climbing up the wooden pegs!
Now, maybe some of you are wandering what the book from the first picture has to do with this little project?
Its actually a lovely little box I bought from a local shop. I'm in love its vintage appearance and the idea that it looks like a book but i can hide little things in it......how very sneaky!!!
I'm not too sure what I'm going to hide in my special book yet. For the time being its holding my pretty pegs and supplies.

I did warn you that this was a quick post :-) I haven't even got a finished project to share. I will show you what I've done so far though:

A little jar of bright and stripey pegs! I'm pretty pleased with how they are turning out and promise to keep you updated with my progress. Until then I do hope you are all having a TRULY SPLENDID week!!!
